Nootka 2.0 rc1 (1.9.0) released

news Releases

At this point every user of older versions is encouraged to switch to this version.

Below some highlights of the release:

  • Improved way of zooming instrument to select note on it

It occurs on mobile devices when instrument preview is too small to be handled by touch. Now, the entire instrument is magnified to be big enough for easy touching and can be scrolled.

  • Layout changes when screen is rotated

Rotation can be enabled in the settings on the phone & tablet page but it is reserved for devices with 7″ screen or above.

  • Learn how to play Bach Minuet

Among many Nootka exercises – called inside the app levels – there is new one with Petzold/Bach Minuet divided on four measures fragments. For each supported instrument it is arranged differently to use its specifics.

But this Minuet is just an example what to do with melody you would like to play. Find your melody in musicxml format, divide it into smaller fragments in some score editor (i.e. Musescore) and practice playing your melody with Nootka.

  • Many, many other small improvements and fixes

Including fixed few crashes, adjusting GUI to variable screen sizes and many others.
