Nootka user interface is intended to be easy and intuitive, so first of all just give it a try.
In case when things in Nootka are not that clear and intuitive, below there are a few words of explanation.
First run wizard
First time the application launches with wizard, where initial preferences has to be set. User preferred instrument at the first place.
But also user declares there a way of displaying score:
So it determines how main Nootka window will look like.
It can be changed later in score settings.
Main window
Depends on what instrument was selected and what kind of score is preferred, main Nootka window may look differently but rules of handling it are quite similar.
So just select a note on the score to see its name and where to play it on instrument or click instrument to see which note it is.
