Creating levels

doc

Term level in Nootka means set of rules for exercises and exams: what will be a questions and how to give an answers on it.

Question can be single note on the score to give answer on the virtual instrument displayed on the screen, but the question can be also the entire melody to play on real instrument as the answer.

Level creator allows to configure any supported combinations of questions and answers, then save it to a file and practice on it.

Level options are grouped on respective pages but some of them can be disabled when inappropriate for specific situations. In the example above single note questions/answers are used so melodies and rhythms are blocked.

When melodies are questions and answers they can be composed from random notes in selected range or from a few notes selected on the score or imported from files in musicXML format.

To enable rhythms in melodies composed from random notes, some rhythmic groups have to be selected and at least one of time signatures.

Also accidentals and key signatures can be precisely configured. Keep in mind that selecting key signature(s) to use in the level will force using corresponding accidental(s) as well. Also when key signatures are in use along with imported melodies – they will be transposed accordingly to randomized key signature in respective questions.

Before saving custom level user may validate it by clicking check button. Checking avoids creating questions impossible to answer on.

To save level just select save button form the initial page of level creator .
